This is the Mass Resignation from Mormonism Event. We’ll meet at the park at the base of Ensign Peak and then climb up to the peak. We hope to have as many people attend as possible. Even if you have already resigned, you can still come and show your support for those resigning that day. We will have a Declaration of Independence from Mormonism that you can sign and we’ll also collect resignation letters (or copies of them) to send in as a bundle. Hopefully we’ll get some media coverage of the event so that the idea of thoughtful people choosing to resign from Mormonism can get out into the public consciousness. We want people to understand some of the major issues we have with the Church as described in The Declaration. We also want to make leaving Mormonism less taboo by being open and proud about our decisions. That’s why we’re coming out of the shadows and into the light as a group. This event is being organized independently by Zilpha Larsen and other resigners and is not being financially supported by Mormon Expression or its parent organization, White Fields.
